Reflection and Celebration of Educafe’s Language Support and Resettlement Projects in 2024

As 2024 comes to a close, we at Educafe would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has contributed to the success of our language support and resettlement programmes. This year has been a testament to the dedication and passion of our team, volunteers, and learners.

Our bespoke courses and programmes are tailored to address the unique needs of our learners. The impact of these projects underscores a key message: proficiency in the English language is not just a skill but a cornerstone for empowerment and integration.

In 2024, we were privileged to support over 120 learners in their journey to improve their English. This achievement is not just a number but a story of transformation. These courses have directly helped individuals overcome barriers to employment, education, and social participation. Mastery of English allows our learners to apply for jobs, contribute to their industries of expertise, assist their families, and support their children’s education.

Language learning is integral to resettlement, especially for non-native speakers striving to make the UK their home. Strong English communication nurtures community cohesion, helping individuals to connect with neighbours, participate actively in civic life, and contribute to the vibrant social and economic fabric of the UK.

Looking ahead to 2025, we are thrilled to expand our resettlement work. Our new projects for Afghan and Hong Kong visitors in Chatty Corner will offer a welcoming space for language learning and cultural exchange. Alongside this project, we are proud to partner with Newbury College to deliver courses in English for Business Communication and English for Living in the Community and Citizenship, further enhancing our learners’ opportunities for integration and growth.

We would like to take this opportunity to recognise and celebrate the incredible team behind these efforts:

  • Rachel Flynn-Delargy – Course Development Manager & Teacher, for her vision and dedication in crafting meaningful learning experiences.
  • Dana Drokina – Course Administration Manager, for her seamless coordination and unwavering commitment.
  • Elizabeth Bennett, Ann Flach, and Patrick Salvadori – Volunteers and Teachers, for their expertise and passion in guiding learners toward their goals.
  • Winnie – Volunteer and Cultural Adviser, for her invaluable support and cultural insights that enrich our programmes.
  •

To our learners, staff, volunteers, and supporters—thank you for making 2024 a year of connection, progress, and hope. Together, we are building a stronger, more inclusive community. Here’s to continuing this important work in 2025!
